British culture and Brighton life

For a large part of August I was back in the U.K and had the privilege of being with my girls and their children. It has been such a glorious summer and as they are all members of the National Trust they wanted to take advantage of this wonderful aspect of British cultural life. We spent a lot of time at great houses and parks .....

Here is a picture of the younger two sitting under a tree waiting for their picnic lunch...

This is the glory of being outdoors in amazing Landscapes...Capability Brown had tremendous vision and energy and did us a great service ; creating these outdoor masterpieces - what an Artist!!!!

....Sitting under the Dapple of a beautiful tree pretending to be extras in a Jane Austen epic !!!!

Imagine our surprise when we look up and see ....Treebeard ...staring down benevolently upon us

Here are some snaps of  -  'Brighton Life' ....Beautiful guests at a wedding , sneaking down to the seashore and then cleaning feet before going to the reception...

The Sun setting on Regency buildings on a Sunday evening in late August

I loved these next shots ; and I hope they didn't mind me crashing in on their party; different ethnic groups celebrating different BBQ styles.....here is an Afro- Caribbean group playing monopoly as their after entertainment

This group were fantastic; they ate food shared from gigantic pots, to my shame I was not sure what food it was , but it was plentiful .....

Then after they all got in on the action to play cricket...!

Here are the Brightonians- hard core, serious Summer foodies, they stayed til late/ sat around the fire/let the children play and enjoyed community ....
